How To Promote Resilience in Your Children?
writes, "In current scenario, Positive parenting certainly impacts on children's development, especially in adverse financial circumstances. In current scenario, Positive parenting certainly impacts on children's development, especially in adverse financial circumstances. As our children grow and learn they are more likely to react from a negative experience or bad interaction. It may be hard for us to sanitize our children from the ups and downs of life. But I feel raising resilient children is possible wherein they are equipped with the tools they need to respond to the adverse challenges of teenage, adolescence and navigate successfully to young adulthood.

Resilience isn't by birth. It can be surely be taught. We must at all costs encourage parents to equip their kids with the skills to handle the unexpected, which actually contrasts our cultural approach.

We have become a culture of trying to make sure our kids are super comfortable under all given circumstances. We as parents are consistently making an effort to stay one step ahead of everything our kids are going to run into. Which is a grave problem. Life doesn't work that way for any one of us and nor will it for our children.

It's been largely observed anxious people have an especially hard time helping their kids tolerate uncertainty, simply because they had a hard time handling it themselves. Even if you didn't have much control over your life situation, you'll still scare for your kids to deal with the similar situations, consequences or decisions. This whole exercise of putting your child through the same pain that you went through is intolerable, but then you have to understand you need to have children who are critical thinkers and problem solvers, so anxious parents try to shield them from worst-case scenarios. It's tempting to go positive and pretend they're smarter than they really are.
