This time of year is my second best time to work in my yard. I do not call it gardening, because I’m not growing edible plants/foods. However, I do have several flower gardens (i.e., beds) on my property. My focus is punctuated with multitasking to and from lawn care, planting flowers & shrubs, pest and weeds control, cutting back over grown shrubs and plants, removing dead heads from roses, and as Fall approaches the roses are pruned for next year. Since Fall { Fall, also known as Autumn in North American English, is one of the four temperate seasons, but for this article I will be using the term “Fall”} is on the horizon. My excitement is extremely high, because I get to connect with the Earth. For example, planting ornamental kale, colorful mums for plenty of Fall color, trees and shrubs, and planting bulbs: Tulips, daffodils, etc.
Several years ago, I decided to phase out using annual flowers due to the expense. As a result, all my flower and plant gardens are perennials. Frankly speaking, this works best for me, and it’s much less back breaking work due to constantly replanting every season.
I do not claim to be a so-called ‘Gardening Guru’, but I do have a ‘GREEN’ thumb’. I’m not bragging. I think I have a gift when it comes to connecting with the Earth via gardening (i.e., yard work). Okay, I have digressed a little from my original plan, which is sharing my personal Five tips for this time of year working in your garden (i.e., yard).
Gardening 5 Tips
1. Put on some ole’ clothes and get your work gloves on 2. Gather work tools for the job/task, and make sure they’re clean and sharp 3. Take several deep breaths as you enjoys Mother Nature’s aura and special vibration and energy. REMEMBER: The focus is on connecting with Nature. 4. As you work in your garden/yard, don’t forget to get into the right frame of mind (i.e., hum a tone to relax your spirit and energize your body!) 5. Don’t forget to have some water close by to dehydrate your thirst, whenever you feel the need to wet your taste buds.
REMEMBER: This is a way to plant your stress and troubles away! Bonjour!
